flying: Luscombe's seat

While on vacation, I scored a seat check in Luscombe 8A. We did not go around the pattern, but no matter. My experience with high-wings permits me to say that Luscombe offers a middle-of-the road visiblity, better than Remos GX. All in all, it seems surprisingly livable. I still think that a 1976 vintage 150 would make a better airplane for me. It is cheaper, for one thing. Electrical system (meaning operations inside Mode C veil), hydraulic brakes, nose gear. But Luscombe is probably the best of the 1946 stable, among Stinson, Taylorcraft, etc. There's no way for me to fit into an Ercoupe at all.
