flying: KLVS in N28GX

The Las Vegas, NM is one of my favourite places... Unfortunately, I heard it is likely to get closed soon. There aren't many resident aircraft, if any, and apparently fuel sales aren't there either. Current NOTAM says the Jet-A is unavailable. When I went to LVS for my first solo in N28GX today, I did not try to refuel, and did not even buy a Snickers: the office was closed.

Pictured are N90AT and N28GX at the ramp. I admired the Twin Commander from afar for a while. The N90AT is a Model 690, which, according to Wiki, has a new wing center section, so I suppose it should not be suseptible to fatigue cracking.

On arrival to SAF, I had a falling-out with the tower again. He claimed that he tried to raise me on the radio after the cleared me to land on 33 when I was over the Santa Fe VOR. I heard nothing of the sort, just him talking to other airplanes. I think I recognize the voice of the same guy who was overwhelmed by arrivals last time. I apologized for whatever transgressions I committed and the case was closed, but I won't forget. And I can't help thinking that nothing like that ever happened at KABQ or AEG.
