Albuquerque/SlateStreetCafe

Prompted by a recommendation, we went to Slate Street Cafe today.

On the upside: bright and clean room; food without the iron skillet residue and excessive grease; credit cards are accepted.

On the downside: they forgot our toasts... then asked us to choose to drop them or wait... so we waited, and waited, and waited. What an ordeal. Also, all of the food had chilie in it, except one item.

On the middle: sweet bacon. Bacon by itself has a wonderful flavour, and the kitchen staff of Slate works quite well, well enough to cook a good bacon, so why ruin it? Purely a matter of taste, of course, so no points added or deducted.

It would've been a great experience, if not for the toast disaster, but we're not coming back. But anyone else is welcome to try their luck, it may just work — especially if you're into Mexican peppers.
