ARR CB mount for JK Jeep

I was not happy about the antenna whip hitting the jeep at every bump, so I decided to try a mount that raised it. Arizona Rocky Road mount does the right thing and I am generally happy with it thus far.

Naked installation:

The necessary washers:

Overall view:

The only fly in the ointment is that Rick shipped 2 of 5/16 washers instead of the necessary 6, so I had to make a trip to Home Depot. Worse, the problem arised from a poor design in the first place: the mounting plate should have had spacers attached to it (a couple of nuts might work). Asking the user to stack washers is way uncool.

The SW Coefficient is about 1.55 at channel 14.

UPDATE: One word of caution: it looks that buying "left" side mount would have been a better idea. I bought "right" side because it made more sense to mount it closer to the hinge. As it turned out, this now requires the gate to be open completely before the hardtop glass can be raised. Before, if jeep were parked on an incline, the gate would rest open at about 80 deg, under the weight of the spare. Now, I have to hold it open at 90 deg while opening or closing the glass. Additional loads from the "left" mount are probably insignificant.

UPDATE: For folks asking about the radio itself, it's located at overhead rails:

The rails are made from an L-shaped stock and screwed to plastic parts, which are sturdy enough to sustain the weight even while off-roading. The whole setup looks ok, jeep-like. It's not a real jeep until you drill a few holes in it.

The power is taken from the left socket, using a solder tap. The left socket is interruptible, and I don't want to use a non-interruptible socket in case I forget to switch the radio off.
